The United Nations has declared 11 October2012 as the world’s first International Day of the Girl Child.
Thanks so much so far for supporting Path to Womanhood (PTW) with reaching out to girls through sanitary towel donations in various ways!
11 Oct 2012 is the International Day of the Girl Child and we are going to be a part of the celebrations being held at the Lutheran grounds in Kibera from 8am to noon. PTW is looking to collect sanitary towels to distribute on this day to the girls who will all be drawn from schools within Kibera. So far we have 120 packets which is great, we would like to get to a figure of 400 packets and with your help we are sure we can. The day has numerous activities which are also being funded by organizations such as PSI and CARE Kenya in various aspects.
Do date our supplier has reduced the cost per packet to 38/= (including delivery *happy dance*) If you are willing to make a donation towards this day for provision of sanitary towels to the girls in need please do so through the following ways:
