Binti United Football Club

Well, i’m excited to type this post.

As mentioned in an earlier post  Young Women’s Leadership Insitute (YWLI) had invited us to be a part of  a forum held last month. You can read about that on the post here . It was an awesome forum and met a lot of lovely young women from different areas implementing all manner of projects.

From further interactions we were approached to assist in helping the girls with access to sanitary towels. This was to be for a football team of 25 together with 20 other members from Kawangware.

Nicole Chesoni from YWLI explained:

“YWLI hosts a football team of 25 girls in number through our Authentic leadership program. We train the girls on various topics and offer them mentorship as well. We use football to bring them together. http://www.ywli.org/sexuality-and-masculinities. We also reach out to an additional 20 girls within the area who benefit from our leadership trainings.”

Well, through YWLI we are looking to support the girls of Binti United Football team and the other members, from Kawangware with annual support of sanitary towels. They are not supported by GoK. Actually not sure how the GoK support is going anyway…or is it? If you are keen to be involved with these girls drop a line lets see how the connections can materialise into mentorship opportunities too. Are you one of those interested in having this be a part of your life? Its pretty exciting as you would ideally be able to get in touch with the girl you support.  Their pic is below, shall try get a better one 🙂

Costs: Sanitary towels  480/= per girl for one year, Panties 80/= for each panty
