It has been an interesting Q1 for us here at PTW. We have been working on our Annual report submission to the NGO Board, the first of which we were ever doing, so it was all new!
A number of girls have been supported to go back to school, to be honest it has been mostly close friends that have decided to take on a girl to support her with fees. Our Education officer (Eve) on the ground in Kajiado has been such a big help going to their families to explain exactly what it means for the girls to go back to school. Most parents support it; most simply do not have the money. Please see the girls’ mini profiles here
The more the families understand the importance of these girls going to school the bigger the awareness!
We are most excited for Agnes who will be finishing High School this year. She will be the first person in her family to finish High School, her parents cant stop smiling, neither can she.
We shall be planning our visit to the girls before the end of March 2014, to meet and connect with all the girls. Any special messages for them?
