Certainly every now and then we all take the small niceties for granted. Small things like affording lunch during a busy day and bigger things like benefits provided by your employer to national security. Panties became a Path to Womanhood focus right from the day we did our very first distribution of sanitary towels.
As a girl I never stopped to think about walking around with no panties and going to school without panties! But now we realize that there is a girl out there who has to stay each day without panties not because they want to but because there really isn’t any panty that she owns OR her mother cannot afford it OR she has limited (no) options.
On 17th March and 19th March PTW distributed approximately 1500 panties to girls in Laikipia County. The donation was made through Panties with a Purpose who we have worked together with previously that actively rally around panties from all over the world. The funds for this initiative came through Fisher Jones Greenwood Solicitors a UK based Firm that we have absolutely enjoyed partnering with on this journey. Through the Education team at Lewa Foundation we were able to reach Elsa School (which included 313 girls in Nursery Primary and Secondary school) as well as Karimba Primary School with 161 girls. Both schools are in semi remote areas, have students from very low income homes and the visit was well worth the journey to both schools. Thank you Fisher Jones for #makingithappen
We were delighted to help fund this amazing and worthwhile work.
