This year, Path to Womanhood Foundation partnered with Simama Na Dada for the celebrations of International Day of the Girl Child which is marked globally on 11th October. Together we raised panties and sanitary towels for distribution.
Our event was held on 6th October at Gachie Primary School, where we had a gathering of girls from the school and the surroundings. The theme for this years celebration was Empower her before, during and after crisis. In total we managed to raise 528 panties which were distributed with sanitary towels to over 200 girls.
The event saw us partner with Panties with Purpose who we work closely with on distribution panties for girls. We have quickly realized over the years that without the panties the distribution of sanitary towels is futile as one cannot go with out the other in menstruation matters.
