I went on vacation recently to visit a very dear friend, Gaceri in NYC and to also see my brother in North Carolina. By luck Gaceri had to go to Boston for work and so we made a girls trip of it. A lot of exciting things happened on that trip, though one meeting relevant to Path to Womanhood is more important. I met two new friends Kathleen and Lesley. The reason i met Kathleen was because we had connected on World Pulse which is a social media site that focuses more on gender issues, womens rights, global stories, etc they do alot of correspondence with women across the world.
Kathleen had posted asking if anyone wanted to partner on the issue of sanitary pads, which i quickly responded to. Anyway, as they say, the rest is history. Kathleen and I have ben chatting and emailing each other FOR MONTHS and finally God had made our meeting happen. To me it was not sheer conincidence that we were going to Boston where Kathleen lives!
Chatting about the issues i’m excited that we are planning a big outreach to happen in Nairobi in February 2012 and my prayer is simply that Gods hand is in it every step of the way.
Kathleen runs her non profit called One for You, One for Her and i always feel inspired whenever we are able to catch each other on chat. Most times she keeps me on toes though i am sure she has no idea 🙂 well, she does now.
As we plan ahead we pray to find solutions to this issue, and as we were discussing, its a never ending problem. But the bottom line we agreed on that day was we do what we can to make a difference no matter how small because it will make a difference no matter how small you may think it is.
